I LOVE FRANK ZAPPA! I SAW THE JAPANESE CONCERT TOUR ( ASAKUSA PUBLIC HALL) IN 1976. IT'S OVER-NITE SENSATION. I REMEMBER LIKE THE NIGHT THOUGH IT IS FAR OLD TIMES. PS I will go to listen from Japan performance (6/9/98) of ENSEBLE MODERN.The very enjoyment. My Website:DALI/JAWAKA http://www.tk.xaxon.ne.jp/~jawaka0

I saw FZ several times myself in Stockholm during the senties. You never knew what his concerts where going to be like (just like his albums) It was totaly new material every time and new band members as well. I love Zappa and it is a great shame that he is not around anymore. Thanks for a great site and for providing some positiv nostalgia.. Mange tack

Im 17 years old and 10 years ago, the first Zappa song I heard was Titties and Beer. Ever Since, I was hooked. I learned to play most of his stuff and own over 40 of his albums on CD. He was my dads musical hero and hes mine also. RIP

Got some nice concert pix here. I've seen Frank four times myself and each show was better than the previous one. The first one was in 1971 and the last one was in 1981. I've been a fan of Franks since 1969 and dearly mis him and his music. Thank God for re-releases. I'm happy people are out there keeping his spirit alive.

Well what can be said about FZ that hasn´t already been said? Nothing I imagine, so I just want to tell you that I am never so happy as when I listen to his music. The music just carries me away to another dimension. I lose track of time and place and my girlfriend goes crazy with me. FZ was the best thing that ever happened to music all over the world.

Brought my 25 cd carousel into the computer room to play constant Zappa and to discourage anyone from bothering me. Still have yet to see anyone on the FZ chat page. I'm there looking for a fellow freak or two most nights USA EST 7pm to midnight. Would love to chat Zappatalk and brag about my collection. I would really love to meet someone who has any of the classic Claymation videos that I accidently erased from my Beta machine 10 years ago. Anyway, the torture never stops. The torture--the torture---who knows where the original comes from? E-mail me if you're going to his chatroom at chatplanet any time soon. Hold on to all things Zappa for the bigtime revival that is coming. Cigarettes are food.

I'm a huge Frank Zappa fan. I even named my son Tanner Joseph Zappa. My internet address even has my son/daughter's name I want to get a Frank Zappa tattoo. Any suggestions of where one could go, who would specialize in this type of tattoo? Zappa was and, obviously, is GLOBAL. I felt ODD, somehow different, when at age 13 in 1969 I tried to turn on my entire 8th grade parochial school class to WE'RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY. I now feel as though I was the most enlightened one there. It's a pleasure to see each and every one of you here. Hope to see you soon.

What are the chances of getting a setlist from a concert I saw 12 or 13 years ago at the Halifax, Nova Scotia, Metro Center? Being an Allman Brothers fan, one of the highlights of the show was the final encore of "Whipping Post" sung by keyboardist/sax player Bobby Martin. Whatever happened to Bobby Martin?

I was going to go on a road trip to see Zappa at his house but I got busy that summer, later that year he died, Iwill never forgive myself. I like the home page but I have much more obscure Zappa recordings and artifacts than those available for display here but I still commend you. An interesting story is that once I got spit on by Zappa at a concert for swearing at the top of my lungs, the thing was that I wanted him to use an idea I had come up with in one of his songs. The idea was that of labeling bags of my own feces with : Alergy Warning- may contain nuts or may have come in contact with nuts.

I'm 42 and regret not realizing his genius until 7 years ago. Been catching up, though, in second hand stores and fleamarkets. Can't get enough. Have a 24 cd carousel that plays only you-know-who. My girlfriend likes only oldies and didn't understand Frank's genius until I played her "The Closer You Are " and "Love of My Life." I listen to his guitar solos for hours on end. This site is just what I've been looking for because most people don't like him. Their loss.

What can I say........ We are talking about, arguably, the greatest composing and performing guitarist to ever live.... He possessed the attitude and the ability, the charm and the wit... No other songwriter had the imagination or the guts to write what he wrote and I really don't believe that anyone else could have pulled it off, even if they really wanted to. And as if his legend had no end he put it as plainly as he could... SHUT UP AND PLAY YOUR GUITAR...... He is the Muffin Man.....He is the Central Scrutinizer.... He is FRANK ZAPPA......

open letter to Mr Frank Zappa Dear Frank... how your music and views on life have influenced me so. you made me laugh when i was down, made me want to buy that geetar and grow a mustache !! how you never gave a shit about what anyone said about yer views and yer music. but most of all how you blew any geetarist past present and future out of the water no matter how talented they are !! a man with more talent in his pinky than any musician could dream of. an inspiration to my life, though i never had the orgasmic plearsure to see you live in concert, but when i hit 25 i wiil be one year closer to be able to jam with you in the great rock and roll heavens. once again i thank you for the fine music you left us all, Mr Zappa RIP Man From Utopia

Mr. Zappa is/was the best composer/musician on this earth. I've seen him twice, but it is not enough (too late). I have all his records both on vinyl and on cd:s, at least 2-3 differrent copies of each. Just bought the latest album on cd: "Strictly Genteel". I will never miss a new record from this hero. Zappa rocked our butts off in November 1977 in Columbus, Ohio. Played a lot from the new LP at the time, "Zoot Allures." FZ had this huge bodyguard, big bald guy, who followed FZ around stage at times, holding a flashlight over his head. The lights went down once, and the 5 foot stuffed Frenchie the Poodle disappeared into the front row. When the lights came back up, all you could see was a cloud of sawdust in front of the stage. The bodyguard was pissed!

Nice photos, thanks for putting them up. Question: can you list (on the web page) the band members that were in this incarnation of Zappa's band? I can't quite place which band this is (although one of the photos seems to include Napolean Murphy Brock). The strange thing about the photos (to me) is that Frank looks, in these pictures, more like he did in the 80's than he did in the 70's. Thanks again, Greg
